Fitting the Top Lift Frame to the Sidelifter

SBdanger

Ensure that you stand well clear of the frame as it is lifting.

Fitting the frame to the Sidelifter requires a forklift.

  1. Lower the lifting (G) Pin as far as possible by fully extending the Bottom Arm and nearly fully folding the Top Arm.
  2. Remove the chains from the Clevis Pin. Stow somewhere safe while not in use.
  3. Using a forklift, line up the Top Lift Frame chains with the pins, raise it up and attach the chains to the clevis.
  4. Attach the hydraulic hoses to the bulkheads on the top arm. These have quick coupling attachments for ease of use.

    SBnote

Ensure that you replace the caps on the bulkheads' coupling attachments while not in use. This stops dirt getting into the hydraulic system.

  5. On the bulkhead there are also two electrical connectors. One is a 'dummy' which holds the SMARTlift CANbus termination plug when the Top Lift Frame is in use. Remove the plug, connect it to the dummy outlet and attach the electrical cable.

    SBnote

You MUST attach the CANbus termination plug to the non-dummy connector on the bulkhead when the Top Lift Frame is not in use. If you do not, the cranes will not operate.

The Top Lift Frame is now ready to use.
