Lifting a container onto or off the Minilifter

The following procedure explains how to lift a container onto the sidelifter from the ground.

  1. Ensure that the lifting chains are securely attached to the oblong link and the lifting lugs are attached to the ends correctly.
  2. Unlock and fully extend the Sliding Stabiliser Extension beams and re-engage the lock handles.
  3. Unlock the stabiliser legs, swivel 180º to the down position and re-engage lock pins.
  4. Extend the stabiliser leg rams until the footplate contacts the ground. Care should be taken to ensure that the unit is level and that no twisting has been induced in the frame. This may require the use of dunnage (timber packing) on uneven ground.
  5. Extend the lifting arms enough to allow the lifting lugs to be engaged in the corner pockets of the container. For more information on how to fit the lugs refer to Lifting Lug Instructions.

    SBdanger

It is dangerous to put the lugs in the wrong pockets.

  6. Operate the lifting mechanism to take up the slack in the slings. At this point, check that the lifting lugs are properly engaged in the castings before proceeding with the lift.
  7. Transfer the container to the deck of the vehicle, taking care to synchronise the front and rear mechanisms.
  8. Engage container on twistlocks and secure.
  9. Complete the procedure by lowering the lifting arms to the stowed position.

To lift a continer FROM the sidelifter TO the ground, follow up to step 6, then:
