Hydraulics

The hydraulic system is powered either by a PTO pump or by an independent powerpack on the trailer chassis.

PTO Powered Hydraulics

Independent Powerpack Hydraulics

A Tandem 20cc cast iron pump is coupled to the PTO unit. The PTO unit is geared to run at an engine speed of 1000rpm delivering a flow rate of 16 litres/min.

The powerpack engine running at 3000 RPM drives a Bucher Tandem GP2 pump delivering a flow rate of 18.5 litres/min.

Oil is supplied to both the left and right cranes through individual circuits.

All hydraulic lifting cylinders are fitted directly with over-centre valves to ensure smooth and stable control and preventing the load falling in the case of a hydraulic rupture.

The stabiliser leg cylinders are fitted with double-check valves that hold the position of the legs when in use.

There is one hydraulic reservoir which is fitted with a filtered air type breather and a 10 micron filter that filters returning oil.

The total capacity of the oil circuit is 100 litres.

All hydraulic rams are constructed from honed, cold drawn seamless tubing with hard chrome plated shafts. Polypak seals are fitted on all of the rams.
