Description

Smartlift has a control strategy which is designed to minimise the risk of loss of stability on the non load side when loading or unloading containers. It achieves this by stopping any top arm up and bottom arm down movements if the base of the container is above a set height and within a set distance of the centre line on the load side.

With the new geometry of the SB362 it has become easier to exceed the height set point when loading containers. This has resulted in the alarm being triggered more often resulting in time wasted in loading and unloading containers. The new control strategy now incorporates an approach angle which allows more height to be used the further away from the centre line of the trailer the container is.

Models and Markets

All SB362 Smartlift units with software version 3.52 or higher.

Installation

Download the software as per "SL0004 Updating Front and Rear ECU Programmes"

Backward Compatability

The new software is backwards compatible with all series 2 Smartlift systems.

Note: If upgrading from a software version lower than 3.49 then the wiring modifications will need to be done as per service letter "LETT0065-A -PVG Coil Control Change" available on request.

Advantages

This allows a greater height to be achieved which makes loading and unloading a container easier. It allows for more movement of the bottom arm when loading or unloading a container.
