Procedure for replacement of wear pads on MK6

  1. Position crane module midway between 20' and 40' position.
  2. Undo the hydraulic motor drive securing bolts, allowing the motor and pinion to swing clear of drive racks.
  3. Using the manual levers on the hydraulic valve bank, extend and tilt until stabiliser foot contacts the ground.
  4. Tilt the leg slowly until module base is 40mm clear of chassis flange.
  5. Change the lifting side wear pads.
  6. Lower stabiliser leg until module base and pad are contacting chassis flange.
  7. Make sure the stabiliser is still contacting the ground then raise the bottom arm fully.
  8. Carefully lower the stabiliser leg until non-lifting side base of module clears the chassis flange by 40mm.
  9. Change the wear pads on the non-lifting side.
  10. Tilt the stabiliser leg slowly until the module base and pads are contacting the chassis flange.
  11. Lower the bottom arm fully, then carefully lower and retract the stabiliser leg.

Refit the module drive motors and adjust according to S0001 MK6 Rack and Pinion Adjustment.

SBnote

The pads supplied are to the latest specifications. On new machines we allow the pad to float within the pad-retaining cavity. This reduces module-sticking problems.

To obtain this pad float on earlier machines the latest pads can be shortened to allow a 20mm end float and a 5mm side-float. The pad material can be worked with normal wood working tools (plane, saw, etc).
