Any Chassis that has been split for transportation purposes.
Information
This procedure should be followed in order to extend a chassis that does not line up correctly i.e. there is an unacceptable gap between the weld faces.
- Ensure that the correct front half of the chassis is being aligned to the correct rear half (same serial number).
- Ensure that the overall length is correct to 13600-5+10 mm, Including a weld gap 2 +2-1 mm
- If possible trim the flanges to meet the above requirement
- If the weld gap (between the 20 mm flange and the 12 mm flange) is greater than 4mm a 200 mm section will have to be cut away from the rear non-conforming flanges and replaced with a longer section of flange (ST31660) that does meet the above requirements See figure 1
- The replaced section of flange and the chassis joint needs to be welded in accordance with WP-37727 and WP-25693 see figure 2 and 3.
Continue joining the chassis as per the original procedure.
