An alternative energy chain (caterpillar/cat-track) introduced on products manufactured by Steelbro China is now implemented for New Zealand built units also.
All models in all markets are affected. The first unit to use the new product will be SB9096.

The individual segments of each energy chain are not interchangeable with each other (i.e. Igus energy chain segments cannot be connected to Kabel-Schlepp segments and vice versa). However a complete Kabel-Schlepp chain may replace an Igus chain and vice versa.
The Kabel-Schlepp end pieces are mounted using 4 bolts, whereas the Igus ones only used 2 bolts. If the Kabel-Schlepp chain is sent as a spare part to replace Igus, then extra mounting holes will need to be drilled (and, if required, tapped).
IMPORTANT: The new energy chain can be reversed (to form an S-bend) however it does not "snap"
together as readily as the old type. Care must be taken to ensure the reversed items are fully engaged.
