TB0087 Introduction of Alternative Energy Chain Supply

Description

An alternative energy chain (caterpillar/cat-track) will shortly be introduced on products being supplied from Steelbro China

Models and Markets

Currently only standard SB450s (rigid & trombone chassis) which are fully manufactured or supplied in kit form from Steelbro China will be affected. This change was introduced on serial number SB9064. Products manufactured in New Zealand will continue to use the original Igus brand energy chain.

Installation

Backward Compatability

The individual segments of each energy chain are not interchangeable with each other (i.e. Igus energy chain segments cannot be connected to Kabel-Schlepp segments and vice versa). However a complete Kabel-Schlepp chain may replace an Igus chain and vice versa.

Use Instructions

The Kabel-Schlepp end pieces are mounted using 4 bolts, whereas the Igus ones only used 2 bolts. If the Kabel-Schlepp chain is sent as a spare part to replace Igus, then extra mounting holes will need to be drilled (and, if required, tapped).
