A PVC cover has been developed to assist in reducing internal contamination of ECU enclosures and to assist in preventing water ingress.

Instructions:

Before fitting the PVC cover, use a compressed air gun or similar to thoroughly dry the interior of the ECU enclosure.

Slip the PVC cover over the ECU enclosure, ensuring that you cover the wiring gland nuts, as shown in the figure below.

Pull the cords at either end tight and then tie them off. Ensure the cords are tucked underneath so that they are not exposed.

Note that the figure above shows a PVC cover fitted to a rear crane module which has a red light, which is the reason the cover has a clear panel. When fitting a PVC cover to a front crane module, ensure that the clear panel is at the back so as to provide maximum protection to the front ECU enclosure from water ingress as a result of driving rain and high pressure washing.

Benefits of Change:

Fitting a PVC cover over the ECU enclosure will assist in protecting against water ingress and contamination of the internal components, which could result in damage to the PCB boards or connector blocks inside of the enclosure.
