Cracked optical sensors (stabiliser extension) can cause issues when moisture gets into the sensor through the cracks.

If the optical sensor is not counting properly, check it for cracks.

Below are typical examples of what cracks look like and where they occur.

Action:

Cracked sensors need to be replaced.

Either:

  1. Replace optical sensor with a new one,

    or;

  2. We have introduced a new magnetic sensor system that replaces the optical one and offers a range of other benefits. Details of the retrofit kit and how to install are in SL0016.
