S0033 Removing and Replacing the Stabiliser Extension Cylinder in Service Workshop

Starting with stabiliser and housing in the fully stowed position, extend the stabiliser extension fully out (horizontally)
From a suitable working platform, remove the bolt that locates the K-pin.
With the soft drift, carefully drive the K-pin out. Take care that the foot does not fall as this may cause serious injury.
Once the foot has been removed, retract the leg extension cylinder.
Release residue pressure in the cylinder by working the manual levers after the engine has been shut down.
Remove hydraulic hoses and cap hoses and plug cylinder fittings.
With an overhead crane or similar lifting device, attach a lifting strop around the centre of the cylinder and take the weight.
Remove the locating circlips from the pin attaching the leg extension cylinder to the stabiliser housing.
With the soft drift carefully drive the J-pin.
Carefully lift the cylinder up and at the same time slide it out of the guide blocks in the leg extension housing. You may need to reposition the lifting strop several times to achieve this if you don't have an overhead crane or similar.
Once the cylinder is clear of the extension housing, make sure the lifting strop is positioned in the centre of the cylinder.
Carefully lift the cylinder and lower behind the stabiliser tilt housing until it is resting on the chassis flanges.
Check cylinder is secure and continue to lower to floor.
Push leg extension housing in manually and secure for storage.
Wash cylinder and send for servicing.
