  • If Radio Control is fitted, carry out the neutral settings using the Radio Remote.
  • Moving either joystick off its neutral position energises the PVEM coils of both Danfoss control valves.
  1. To check & set the neutral position of these coils carry out the following:
  2. On Machines where manual control levers are not fitted (SB30/33/E40) these will need to be fitted to carry out this test and removed at completion of tests.
  3. With the area around the lift arms and stabilizer legs clear of personal and obstructions, start the engine or PTO and select arms and high speed on the remote control unit.
  4. Start with the rear crane. While watching the manual levers on the arm functions of the rear control valve move the front joystick lever just off neutral (the engine will go to max speed) the PVEM coil power is now turned 'ON' there maybe be some movement or flicking of the manual levers this is normal, release the joystick allowing it to return to neutral this now turns the power 'OFF' to the PVEM coils, there should be minimal or no lever movement of the arm function levers when the power is turned off. (Ignore the movement of the leg function levers).
  5. If there is movement of the 'arms' manual control levers the neutral position can be adjusted by removing the dust caps on the end of the PVEM coils and accessing the inhex (2mm) adjusting screw, make small adjustments with this screw until minimal or no lever movement is observed (Turn the screw clockwise if the lever moves up or anti clockwise if the lever moves down). When the arm function neutrals have been set correctly select legs on the remote control unit and carry out he same check and adjustment procedures on the leg functions. (Ignore the movement of the arm function levers)

Checking the crane traverse coil neutral.

SBnote

Selecting crane traverse on the remote control energises the PVEM traverse coils.

Observe the traverse control lever when moving the selector switch back to the leg position. Carry out the same check and adjustment procedures as in Step 4.
