G0007 Unpacking Instructions for E40 Sidelifter Shipped in a 40' Container
- Remove all packing materials and load restraint equipment etc
- Remove Crane Assemblies.
- Connect an air supply to the emergency air supply line and charge the air system. This will allow the spring brakes to be released.
- Release the spring brakes and remove the unit from the container.
- Assemble the chassis as follows:
- Position the trailer on a flat, level surface.
- Level the two chassis main beams both longitudinally and laterally.
- Position the forward chassis section and align with the main beams of the trailer.
NB: Datum points stamped on chassis flanges: These are 100mm reference points to obtain correct flange alignment. Refer to drawing WS-31764
- Weld the two chassis sections together as per the weld procedures shown on drawings WP 25694, WP 25695, WP 25699 and A 4960021.
- Prime and paint the affected areas of the chassis.
Crane Module Fit Up Instructions for SE400
- Raise the crane assembly and carefully slide the crane onto the chassis. Lower the crane, ensuring that the slide pads remain correctly positioned.
- Connect the hydraulic hose energy chain and hose end fittings to the crane connections.
- Route the electrical cable through the crane base up to the junction box.
- Pass the cable though the gland in the box lid and connect the numbered wires to the numbered connector base. (See leaflet supplied).
- Secure the gland and fit the box lid.
- The load transfer feet on the cranes are numbered. Identify the correct packer bar for each foot and fit using shims where necessary.
- Fit the front crane traverse cylinder and connect to the hydraulic system.
Commissioning The Hydraulic & Electrical System
- Fit battery and ensure the polarity is correct.
- Check the engine oil and water levels.
- Check the fuel and hydraulic oil levels, top up as required.
- Check that the isolating valves on the oil tank are turned on.
- Turn on the engine key and check that oil pressure and alternator lights illuminate.
- Start engine and allow hydraulic system to circulate with the engine at idle speed for several minutes. Check for leaks.
- Select 'crane traverse' and extend the traverse cylinders to align the crane end connection. Fit bosses and pins and secure the 'E' clips.
- Select 'Legs' and fully extend, retract, tilt, and lower two or three times, allowing the hydraulic pressure to build up to 2000 PSI for 5 seconds at the end of each stroke. (This is to remove any air from the load sensing hoses and main control system).
- Place the stabiliser feet on the ground.
- Select 'Arms' and 'Low Speed'. Fully stroke all arm cylinders two or three times and then bottom the front top arm cylinder and check the system relief pressure is reaching 4000 PSI.
- Return the crane to 20'.
Shut down the engine, check hydraulic fluid level.
