Definition: A photo sensor switch with indicator lights to assist in aligning Sidelifter twistlocks with end of container.
12 or 24 volt electrical supply from tractor unit along trailer reverse circuit.
A photoelectric sensor mounted underneath crane module base, on lifting side in front of twistlock assembly.
Indicator light mounted under stabiliser outer housing, facing forward on lifting side of front module. Visible to driver of tractor unit physically and with use of mirrors. Light lense is split white and amber.
Electrical feed is supplied through reverse wire from front electrical plug to tail light junction box. From tail light junction box the feed is split to rear reverse lights and into main control box via electrical cable for front module junction box. From here it is fed to photo sensor switch and indicator light.
Position Sidelifter forward of container to be uplifted. Engage reverse gear in tractor unit. Immediately the white lense on the indicator light is illuminated. When the photo sensor is aligned with the end of the container, the amber light lense is also illuminated, indicating that the twistlock of the Sidelifter is aligned with the corner casting of container. Apply tractor unit park brake and select neutral. Both light lenses will no longer be illuminated. Lifting operations can now be commenced.
